4th Annual Spirit of 2010 Hockey Tournament Launch
02/09/06 - Head Coach Marc Crawford and Fin joined BC Premier Gordon Campbell to kick off the 4th Annual Spirit of 2010 Hockey Tournament. Also in attendance were BC Amateur Hockey players Owen Blamey, Avery Chow, Natalie Korenic, Michael Mercier, and Gerry Johannson.
With tournaments registered from more than 70 British Columbia communities, and more than 35,000 young hockey players involved, the tournament is a way to celebrate healthy, active living, amateur sport and the Spirit of BC through minor hockey.
"The Spirit of 2010 Hockey Tournament is about hockey in its purest form. That means youngsters playing for the love of the game," Crawford said. "I love to see that, and that's why the Vancouver Canucks are proud to be a partner with the Spirit of 2010 Hockey Tournament. Each year the tournament gets a bit bigger, and like the Premier I know that as we get even closer to the Olympic Games in 2010, that this signature event will take on even more meaning in communities throughout British Columbia."
The Vancouver Canucks and Orca Bay is a proud part of this community and province, so we're pleased once again to lend our support to the Spirit of 2010 Hockey Tournament. We encourage youngsters to get out and play Canada's game, get some exercise, and have a whole lot of fun.
