Two big issues were facing the Canucks today as they skated at General Motors Place. The first was that the team was headed to Alberta for a big back-to-back pair of games against Edmonton and Calgary. And while, both those teams are struggling a little bit, the Canucks don't have a great record against their eastern neighbours. Richard Park did practice today with the team as well which may mean he is close to returning to the lineup.

The other issue is that of Markus Naslund and his status for the 2006 Torino Olympics. Markus has officially bowed out of the Olympic Games citing his troublesome groin injury that he will now rest in anticipation of the 23 game stretch drive. Naslund comments on his decision below.
