12/13/05

What better way for the Canucks to take on another Eastern challenge then in "the world's most famous arena", Madison Square Garden. It's amazing that what once started as an abandoned railroad shed on fifth Avenue, and 23rd street could be transformed into a spectacular arena, seating 19,763 and hosting some of the world's greatest performers, and athletes. From the shows of greats like Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen and John Lennon to where Joe Frazier knocked out Mohammed Ali, and Mark Messier broke the 54 year old "curse" delivering out his famous guarantee, the Garden has become a piece of history that has showcased many memorable evenings of our time.

The Rangers currently have 44 points and are 2nd in the Eastern Conference. Jagr is playing at his best leading the NHL with 50 points. The Canucks with 38 points are clinching on to the 5th spot in the West, with Markus Naslund as the leading Canuck goal scorer with 34 points. We will mostly likely see Matt Cooke on the ice in today's game and Maxime Ouellet from the Maitoba Moose was called up today to back up Alex Auld in goal. Game time is 4:00pm on Sportsnet Pacific.
