Hodgson Signs
Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that the Canucks have signed centre Cody Hodgson. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Hodgson, 18, has played in three Canucks pre-season games this year, recording one assist and six penalty minutes. A member of the Brampton Battalion during the 2007-08 season, Hodgson ranked among the top 20 in OHL scoring with 85 points and led the Battalion in goals with 40 in 68 games. He also recorded five goals in five playoff games before Brampton was eliminated in the first round.

The 6'0", 185 lbs centre was named captain of Team Canada’s Under-18 squad who won gold at the 2008 IIHF World Championships. Hodgson scored 12 points (2-10-12) and led all skaters in assists (10). The Haliburton, Ontario native also won a gold medal with Team Ontario at the 2007 Canada Winter Games.

Hodgson was selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the first round, tenth overall, at the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
