Lineup

The Canucks look for their third straight win to start the new season as they battle the Avalanche in Denver. They're halfway through a four-game, week-long road trip.

Daniel Sedin leads the team with two goals after scoring a pair - including the game-winner in overtime - against the Blue Jackets Friday. Sami Salo sits tied for the team lead in points with three. The Twins have three points apiece.

BORED-ON

First-round pick Luc Bourdon is still waiting to make his regular season debut with the Canucks.

Rory Fitzpatrick draws in for his third-straight game on a third pairing with Kevin Bieksa.

Bourdon is still battling the tail end of a flu bug.

OH BOY ROBERTO

Goaltender Roberto Luongo's still feeling a little displaced. He's faced a combined 47 shots in two games thus far - that's a game's worth of rubber back in Florida.

Hasn't hurt his numbers any. He boasts a 1.50 GAA and .938 save percentage.

BACKED UP

The 26-year-old Dany Sabourin has yet to dress, and barring a catastrophe in the Pepsi Center, won't see the ice Sunday.

Though Sabourin has just five games of NHL experience split between Calgary and Pittsburgh, the Val-d'Or native was a first-team all-star last season in the AHL while tending for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, and won the Baz Bastien Memorial Trophy as the league's best goaltender.

At 6'2", 182-pounds, he's a fair-sized insurance policy.

ROADIES

The Canucks finished last season 17-22-2 on the road. Thus far this year they're 2-0, though they're 18-23-10 all-time in Colorado.

With 11 of their first 15 games away from Vancouver, they have a prime opportunity to get a head start on a better road record this season.

The last time the Canucks started a season with a schdule as trying as this one, Supertramp was selling out football stadiums and Rubik's Cube contests were a big draw down at the mall.

Surprisingly, the a tough road schedule hasn't really had a big impact on Vancouver's final results.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY

October 8th, 2000, With a 5-4 comeback win over Tampa Bay, the Canucks became just teh third club since 1983 to to win a game in regulation when trailing by two or more goals with less than three minutes remaining (at least since the 5:00 overtime rule was announced).
