The Canucks are hungry to make a difference this year at Harvest Day.
The staff from Canucks Sports and Entertainment are joining their partners from Aramark, the Aquilini Investment Group and CLAC Representatives, in sending over 75 people to the Fraser Valley this Saturday for Harvest Day in support of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. Society.
With the Greater Vancouver Food Bank assisting over 28,000 people weekly throughout the Lower Mainland, the work put in by these hired-hands is indispensable.
The difference made from the Canuck croppers will be no small potatoes either; over 30,000 pounds of spuds, enough to feed the food bank’s members for three weeks, will be pulled from the soil and deposited into the over eight million pounds of food distributed yearly.
Being able to provide healthy, fresh and local produce of Vancouver residents is part of the Food Bank’s new direction and the Canucks are more than happy to give their support.
