CANUCKS LAUNCH PLAYOFF INITIATIVES
Vancouver, B.C. – The Vancouver Canucks announced today that the club is launching several playoff initiatives for fans. The 2013 Playoffs are presented by Sportsnet and initiatives include exclusive Canucks.com playoff content, traditional Playoff Towels, and the Chevrolet Party on the Plaza, before the start of every home game.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early for every home playoff game at Rogers Arena and participate in the Chevrolet Party on the Plaza beginning two hours before game time. Doors for entrance to Rogers Arena open 90 minutes before puck drop. The Chevrolet Party on the Plaza features interactive games, fun contests, face painting, and a chance to meet Canucks Alumni with live music by local DJs and the Sardis Secondary Drumline. Those in attendance also have the chance to enter to win great prizes including a pair of tickets to upcoming Canucks playoff games. A 2013 Chevrolet Cruze and 2013 Chevrolet Trax will also be on display with the opportunity to sign the Chevrolet Cruze in support of the Canucks and participate in an interactive photo display with the Chevrolet Trax.
To accommodate the Chevrolet Party on the Plaza, Abbott Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from noon until one hour after puck drop on playoff game days. Disabled access is available from Pacific Boulevard onto Abbott Street for drop off at Gate 16 during this time.

Every fan attending each home playoff game at Rogers Arena will receive a Playoff Towel courtesy of Sportsnet Pacific, Rogers, Save-On-Foods Pharmacy, TEAM Radio and The Province. Towels are also available throughout the Lower Mainland at participating Save-On-Foods Pharmacy locations or at any of the Canucks Team Stores while supplies last.
The Canucks Team Store has added a fourth location just in time for the playoffs. The Kerrisdale Canucks Store is located at 41st and West Boulevard store hours are Mon – Sat 10-6 pm and Sun 11-5 pm. The store will carry playoff merchandise including the head to head pucks, foam fingers, blue primary jerseys and name and number tees for men and women. Canucks Team Stores are also located on Robson Street between Bute & Thurlow, at Rogers Arena (Gate 6) and the Pro Shop at Hastings and Renfrew. All locations are open seven days a week. Throughout the playoffs, fans are encouraged to go to Canucks.com for exclusive content including photo galleries, pre- and post-game coverage, and all the stories around the team and the city, even on the road with exclusive behind-the-scenes content, Behind the Lens photo galleries and the Fortnucks blog series. Canucks.com will continue its post-game show this year hosted by Joey Kenward and Glen Hanlon, featuring live interviews from the dressing room and coach Vigneault's press conferences, highlights and analysis.
Canucks.com will re-launch ThisIsWhatWeLiveFor.com, an interactive microsite where fans can show their support and become more directly involved with the excitement of playoffs on web and social channels. ThisIsWhatWeLiveFor.com will feature a large Canucks collage composed of fan photos, videos, and playoff media, displaying the passion Vancouver fans have for their team. Fans from around the world can participate through social media using the hashtag #TIWWLF on Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram and submit content to share their stories through the website itself. The Canucks social media platforms will also host a number of fan initiatives including a city-wide competition pitting fans against fans in pursuit of playoff glory and Canucks tickets. The Canucks in partnership with Save-on-Foods, TEAM Radio, The Beat 94.5 and 103.5 QM/FM will again host the Canucks Playoff Payoff in support of the Canucks for Kids Fund (CFKF). At select Save-on-Foods locations around the lower mainland, Canucks representatives will be joined by TEAM 1040’s Scott Rintoul and Company during their live broadcast from 6:00-10:00 a.m. Jonny, Holly & Nira from The Beat 94.5 and Mike & Tara In The Morning from 103.5 QM/FM will also be broadcasting live. The Canucks Playoff Payoff raises funds for the Canucks for Kids Fund and provides an opportunity for those participating to win playoff tickets. Tickets for Canucks playoff games are in demand. Individuals buying tickets from unauthorized sources run the risk of purchasing stolen or cancelled tickets with invalid bar codes, resulting in entry at Rogers Arena being denied on game night. Fans in search of tickets to playoff games are encouraged to check www.canucks.com/tickets for great seats released by the NHL, NHLPA and visiting team the week leading up to or within 48 hours of game day. Alternatively, the Prime Seat Club (canucks.com/primeseatclub) offers great seats to purchase from Canucks season ticket holders for confirmed playoff games. Single game tickets bought through Ticketmaster for playoff games not played in the first round will automatically be refunded at point of purchase. Canucks Sports & Entertainment encourages fans to celebrate responsibly. Throughout the playoffs, the Vancouver Canucks and Aramark Sports & Entertainment in partnership with Budweiser Good Sport will continue the designated driver program at Rogers Arena during each Canucks home game. Guests at least 19 years of age, with a valid driver’s license, can pledge to be a designated driver. Upon sign-up, the designated driver pledges to not drink alcohol at the game and provide responsible transportation for all members of their group. Designated drivers receive a voucher for one free non-alcoholic beverage and are eligible for a prize draw. Eligible guests may sign up at the Guest Services Centre at Section 114 on the Plaza Level 100 and Section 310 on the Rogers Level 300.
Fans attending games at Rogers Arena are encouraged to use Rogers Arena’s two-way fan text service should the behaviour of others around them become unpleasant for their experience. Fans can text their message or concern to 604-512-6799, including as much information and detail as possible along with seat location so Arena staff can respond accordingly.
