Back in business
It wasn't pretty, then it was gorgeous, then it was hideous, but in the end the Vancouver Canucks earned their third win in five games beating the St. Louis Blues 3-2 Tuesday night at Rogers Arena.
The second of back-to-back contests began nightmarish for the Canucks as they were outshot 15-3 and were it not for the spot-on play of Cory Schneider Vancouver would have trailed by at least a goal early on. That wasn't the case as Schneider was flawless leaving the game knotted at 0-0 after 20 minutes.
Whatever was said in the first intermission worked as the Canucks exploded for three goals in the middle frame; Jannik Hansen got the ball rolling with his eighth goal of the year, Daniel Sedin followed suit netting his ninth of the campaign before Dale Weise, yes Dale Weise, scored the eventual game-winner going in with speed on Jake Allen and beating the netminder in close. Beauty.
Vancouver came undone in the third as St. Louis clawed to within a goal of tying the game, but the Canucks closed it out to end a four-game homestand on a high.
The Canucks now hit the road for a three-game trip beginning Thursday in Phoenix.
