T.J. Oshie and Andy McDonald scored in the shootout as the St. Louis Blues beat the Vancouver Canucks 4-3 Sunday night at Rogers Arena.

Ryan Kesler and Alex Burrows were both stopped in the one-on-one battle by Blues rookie goaltender Jake Allen, who improved to 3-0-0 this season.

Kesler opened the scoring 4:37 into the opening period with his first goal of the season, a power play marker, in just his second game this year. Daniel and Henrik Sedin assisted and the Canucks held a 1-0 lead until the 13:45 mark when Oshie knotted the game up at 1-1.

With 50 seconds left in the first, Henrik Sedin hit the scoresheet for the first time this season, he trickled a Burrows pass over the line to make it 2-1 Vancouver through 20 minutes.

McDonald was the lone scorer of the second as Roberto Luongo, who finished with 20 saves, stopped 10 of 11 shots in the middle stanza.

In the third Aaron Volpatti traded punches with heavyweight Ryan Reaves to ignite the Canucks, but it was the Blues taking advantage with Vladimir Sobotka scoring at the eight minute mark. It was 3-2 Blues until Mason Raymond forced overtime late with his team-lead-tying fifth goal of the season.
