2013 Canucks for Kids Fund SuperSkills, powered by Rogers:
The Vancouver Canucks, in partnership with Rogers, are proud to host the 2013 Canucks for Kids Fund SuperSkills event at Rogers Arena on Sunday, February 10. This family friendly event takes place during the first annual BC Family Day long weekend.
Net proceeds of the event are going to the Canucks for Kids Fund and the NHLPA Goals & Dreams Fund. In 2012, this event raised more than $228,000 for the Canucks for Kids Fund and the NHLPA Goals & Dreams Fund. The Canucks Centre for BC Hockey, in partnership with BC Minor Hockey, raised an additional $4,865 for minor hockey teams throughout BC.
This event allows Canucks players, joined by BC Minor Hockey team the Surrey Minor Peewee A1 Thunder, to showcase their skill and agility in six individual on-ice events and is a great and affordable way for families to see their favourite players in a fun atmosphere.
Doors will open at 12:00 p.m. as the Canucks Alumni scrimmage gets underway featuring alumni including Orland Kurtenbach, Dave Babych and John Garrett. Fans are encouraged to come early to see their Canucks Alumni heroes skate at Rogers Arena before on-ice activities with the current Canucks begin at 1:00 p.m. Fans can also take part in the various concourse activities, including the opportunity to meet Canucks mascot Fin and many of his mascot friends. For complete event details please go to www.canucks.com/skills.
This event is made possible thanks to Rogers, Rogers Sportsnet, PlayStation, Grimms, and our media partners Team 1040, Team 1410, The Beat 94.5 and 103.5 QM/FM.
